The Right to Your Opinion
Hii!! Today I was able to quickly glance and read over an excerpt by Jamie Whyte titled The Right to Your Opinion. What I was able to understand from this excerpt was that the idea of having your own opinion is false. It says this because our opinions most of the time are incorrect so that being said it would add nothing to a discussion and end up wasting more time, and when questioned if were actually in the wrong we take offense to someone questioning of our opinion. We don't take the time to actually question ourselves and immediately go into offense mode because "I have the right to my opinion". At the end of the day an opinion is another form of entitlement that has been engraved into our mind for many many years. What I was also able to understand was that we don't need to listen to everyone's opinion and if someone starts playing the "I am entitled to my opinion" card, we should just expect someone who is going to be close-minded aka a Karen.😀
